A hydrogel electrolyte and an electrochemical energy storage device are disclosed. The hydrogel electrolyte includes a hydrogel and electrolyzed salts. The hydrogel is a product from the reaction of a mixture of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and polyethylene oxide (PEO) with a borax aqueous solution. The electrolyzed salts are distributed within the hydrogel and dissociated into a cation and an anion. The electrochemical energy storage device includes the above hydrogel electrolyte.

A hydrogel electrolyte and an electrochemical energy storage device are disclosed. The hydrogel electrolyte includes a hydrogel and electrolyzed salts.
