The modified hydrogel has properties that are not easily broken and has moderate strength for cutting and scanning. The modified hydrogel combined with iExM’s technology can achieve a magnification of 60 times. In this way, the modified and expanded hydrogel can be cut sections as layer-by-layer during microscopic observation, so that the application of expansion microscopy no longer limited by the working distance, thus improving the application scope of expansion microscopy, and further reach the analytical scale of nearly tens of nanometers for biological tissues with the novel iExM to understand and learn more about the microstructure and mysteries of biological tissues, thereby gaining a deeper understanding of the structure and physiology of organisms. |
